How to pay university tuition abroad from Armenia: a step-by-step guide

To pay a foreign university you need its official invoice or offer letter with bank details, a transfer in the currency it asks for, and a bank confirmation (such as SWIFT MT103) that you send back to the admissions office. Pay early: international transfers can take several business days to be matched to your student file.

1. Get the official invoice

Universities send an invoice or an offer letter that lists the amount, the currency, the beneficiary account (IBAN and SWIFT/BIC) and a payment reference — usually your student or application number. Never pay to details sent in a casual email without checking them on the university's portal.

2. Pay the exact amount in the right currency

Pay in the invoice currency and make sure the university receives the full amount. Bank charges deducted on the way are a common reason a deposit shows as 'partially paid'.

3. Always include the reference

The payment reference is how the finance office links the money to you. Without it, matching can take weeks.

4. Send the confirmation

After the transfer, send the bank confirmation (MT103 or equivalent) to admissions or the finance office and keep a copy for your visa application.
